Garden Party Wrap-up

A suggestion to anyone planning a garden wedding. Have it on the same day Jim Johnson has his Garden Party. Regardless of the weather prediction, the day will be perfect. This guy has connections with the weather gods.
We met at the Rockland Park and Ride and the day could not have been more perfect. Over 20 cars showed up to cruise and then feast. Jim always takes us on the back tree lined roads, dotted with beautiful homes, great views and the twists and turns that make driving a Corvette so much fun. He had perfect turn by turn directions for the navigators. We all left together and arrived together, a testament to Jim’s leadership, the quality of the directions or luck. Maybe it was a bit of all three.
After our tour of Norwell, Scituate, Hingham and Cohasset we wound our way to Jim’s home and beautiful back yard. For those that have never been to Jim’s home, the grounds are both an inspiration and a revelation as to how much work your own needs.
No one ever leaves an SSCC event hungry. We started with steak tips, shrimp, plenty of munchies and burgers and hotdogs provided by Jim. All the side dishes and deserts were brought by the members. Between bites, everyone got caught up on vacations, new cars, what we’ve been doing, what we are planning for the rest of the summer and of course lots of car talk. We all send our warmest thanks to Jim for his hospitality and sharing his beautiful home with us. More photos from the Garden Party are here.
