Very Sad News
It is with great sadness that I need to report the passing of one of our fellow members. Rich Bertrand passed away suddenly on Monday, July 7, 2008. Rich participated in the Randolph parade with the club on Thursday evening. We always were happy to see Rich and his 40th Anniversary convertible. He was a constant contributor to the photo albums on the web site. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife Liz and his children. Visiting hours are 4-8 p.m. on Friday at the Mortimer Peck Funeral Home at 516 Washington Street in Braintree. The funeral service is Saturday July 12 at 10:00 a.m. at the South Congregational Church, 1075 Washington Street, South Braintree.

New Cruise Night Location
The big new of the evening was the change of venue for our summer cruise night. After three years at the Abington Walmart, we are moving to the Monponsett Inn. Walmart asked the club to donate to their charity. The amount they were looking for far exceeds the annual revenues of the club. An emergency officers meeting was called to try to find a venue that had adequate and safe parking, bathroom facilities, electrical power for the DJ and finally, access to food and drink.
We considered many local business and restaurants. Joe Amante made contact with the Monponsett Inn and not only would they permit us to use their parking lot, but they welcomed us with open arms. The owner is a Vette owner!
Please join us on our kick-off night, May 12. We would like to fill the parking lot. And one of the great benefits of the Monponsett Inn is a great menu and beautiful setting. Not quite sure how to get there? Click here to get a map.See you there!
